RN to BSN Program
At one time the goal of nearly every nurse was to earn the RN designation. Today, however, nurses who would be leaders and who want to achieve higher salaries and more advancement opportunities are discovering that the 3 year RN program is not enough. Many health care facilities give preference to nurses who also have four year degrees or higher. The BSN—Bachelor of Science in Nursing—takes you beyond nursing and introduces you to the skills needed to be a leader of a nursing staff. The courses are taught by faculty members who are nurses themselves and who also teach the classes on campus. You get streaming video lectures, full faculty support, and access to all needed library facilities. If you are able to study year-around, you can complete the degree in as little as two years.
The Jacksonville School of Nursing allows you to transfer nursing and other college credits from other institution. If you are already an active RN, you will receive 30 credits upon acceptance into the program. Your credits will not expire and there is no graduation deadline. Thus you can complete the program at your own pace. You can even complete your clinicals in your own locality if you can partner with a mentor in a clinic close to home. Finally, Jacksonville University School of Nursing makes a special effort to cooperate with active duty service-people. You will be able to continue your study regardless of where your duties take you.
