Criminal
Justice w/Concentration in Forensic Psychology
Forensic psychologists use their training and
expertise within the criminal justice system. They may testify in divorce
cases as to which parent is most suitable as a child's custodian. They
may help police "profile" a serial murderer. They may help lawyers pick
a sympathetic jury. They may determine whether a person is mentally fit
to stand trial or they may assess a convicted criminal's potential for
future violence.

Most
forensic psychologists are former clinical psychologists who understand
abnormal and criminal psychology, psychotherapy, and the clinical assessment
process. Most forensic psychologists hold a master's or doctoral
degree, although those with a bachelor's degree can qualify for
entry-level jobs.
Career opportunities in this field are good because
criminal activity sadly continues to remain steady. According to the U.S.
Department of Labor, the average psychologist makes between $40,000 and
$70,000 annually, depending on training and experience.
